SDE Intern — Backend

About this internship

Infilect, a leader in visual intelligence for worldwide retail, is hiring a Backend SDE Intern who loves to code and enjoys hands-on back-end engineering in Python and Django. This is a 6-month, in-office internship in Bangalore (5 days a week) where, based on performance, you may have your internship extended or be offered a full-time role. You will develop and maintain Python-based applications according to customer requirements and build robust RESTful APIs for the product. You will work with both relational and non-relational databases, design and implement monitoring systems to ensure system stability and data quality, devise testing protocols to identify and resolve issues, and continuously optimise the product for better performance — minimising latency and improving throughput — while collaborating with other engineering teams on future product initiatives.

Skills you'll use

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain Python-based applications per customer requirements
• Create and enhance RESTful APIs for the product
• Work with relational and non-relational databases for efficient data storage and retrieval
• Design and implement monitoring systems to ensure stability and data quality
• Devise and implement testing protocols to identify and resolve issues
• Optimise the product for latency, throughput and overall performance

Who can apply

• Passion for coding and back-end engineering
• Hands-on experience with Python and Django
• Understanding of RESTful API design and client-server architecture
