Puzzles Questions and Answers

Puzzles are the interview format that companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs and Deloitte still love, and they are also the most enjoyable way to keep your reasoning sharp between study sessions. Each puzzle below comes with the full reasoning chain — the point is the method, not the answer.

Sudoku

Easy to expert Sudoku grids plus the solving techniques that crack them

Open section

Sudoku trains exactly the constraint-elimination reflex that seating-arrangement and data-sufficiency questions reward. Work up from easy to expert grids, and learn the named techniques — naked singles, hidden singles, pointing pairs, box-line reduction — rather than guessing.

Number Puzzles

Number series, magic squares, missing numbers and cryptarithmetic

Open section

Number puzzles ask you to find the hidden rule connecting a set of numbers — the same skill tested directly as "number series" in every bank and SSC paper. Magic squares, missing-number grids and cryptarithmetic (SEND + MORE = MONEY) build the same muscle.

Missing Letters Puzzles

Alphabet series, letter analogies and word-completion puzzles

Open section

Missing-letter puzzles work on alphabetical position rather than value. Learn the alphabet positions both forwards and backwards (A=1/Z=26, and the EJOTY mnemonic) and most of these become instant.

Logical Puzzles

Seating, blood relations, truth-and-lie, river crossing, weighing and age puzzles

Open section

Logical puzzles are the interview classics: who sits where, who is telling the truth, how do you get everyone across the river, how many weighings to find the odd coin. Each family has a standard method — grids for arrangement, case-splitting for truth-tellers, information theory for weighing.

Clock Puzzles

Clock angles, mirror clocks, faulty clocks and time-calculation puzzles

Open section

Clock questions look fiddly but reduce to two facts: the minute hand moves 6° per minute, the hour hand 0.5° per minute, so they close on each other at 5.5° per minute. Everything else — coincidences, right angles, opposite hands, gaining/losing clocks — follows from that.
