AI Product Engineer Intern

About this internship

The/Nudge is hiring an AI Product Engineer Intern to accelerate its journey towards becoming an AI-proficient, action-led institute working to alleviate poverty. In this role you will explore, design and build AI-driven products, internal prototypes and automation tools that improve program delivery and scale across rural development, agriculture, skilling and economic inclusion. You will work closely with program, strategy and operations teams to identify workflows that can be optimised with AI, then design, prototype and develop AI-powered tools, custom chatbots and internal applications using LLM APIs, prompt engineering and low-code/no-code automation platforms. You will also support smart data analysis, automated report generation and knowledge management, research emerging AI technologies, and help upskill teams to cultivate an AI-first mindset across the organisation.

Skills you'll use

What you'll do

• Identify operational workflows that can be optimised using AI and automation
• Design, prototype and develop AI-powered tools, chatbots and internal apps
• Build AI solutions for smart data analysis, report generation and knowledge management
• Research emerging AI technologies and frameworks relevant to the Institute
• Help train and upskill teams on adopting everyday AI tools
• Document product processes, system architectures and technical learnings

Who can apply

• Pursuing or completed a degree in CS, Data Science, IT or related (self-taught developers welcome)
• 0–2 years building AI/ML applications, integrating APIs and managing vector databases
• Proficiency in Python and automation workflows (LangChain, Make.com, n8n)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and prototyping skills
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
