Sentence Correction — Questions and Answers

Sentence Correction shows a faulty sentence and asks for the corrected version. Unlike Spotting Errors, you are given the fix — so the skill is recognising which of four rewrites removes the error without introducing a new one. Watch for options that correct the grammar but change the meaning.

Sentence Correction— Concepts, Formulas & Shortcuts

  • "Agree" is a full verb: say "I agree with you", never "I am agree".
  • Never double a comparative: "more taller" and "most best" are always wrong.
  • Third-person singular takes "does not", not "do not".
  • "Married to" a person, not "married with".
  • Reject options that fix the grammar but alter the intended meaning.
  • Check that the corrected option keeps the original tense unless the tense itself was the error.

Sentence Correction — Frequently Asked Questions

How is sentence correction different from spotting errors?+

Spotting Errors asks only where the mistake is; Sentence Correction asks you to choose the repaired sentence. That means you must also reject options that over-correct or change the meaning.

What is the most common trap in the options?+

An option that fixes the highlighted error but quietly introduces a second one — a changed tense, a dropped article or a shifted meaning. Always read the whole replacement, not just the changed words.
