What you'll do

• Lead and grow a team of Application Engineers, System Development Engineers, and RPA Developers supporting multiple Books organizations
• Drive the design and delivery of scalable automation solutions, internal tools, workflow platforms, and AI-powered operational systems
• Partner with Operations, Product, Program, and Engineering teams to identify automation opportunities and prioritize high-impact initiatives
• Establish mechanisms for roadmap planning, project execution, dependency management, and operational reviews across multiple programs
• Drive operational excellence through standardized development, testing, deployment, and support processes
• Own delivery of GenAI and workflow automation initiatives leveraging AWS and internal Amazon technologies
• Mentor engineers and technical leads while building a high-performance engineering culture focused on innovation and execution
• Influence senior stakeholders through data-driven reviews, metrics, and long-term automation strategy

• This role works closely with Operations, Product, Engineering, and Program teams across the Books organization to deliver scalable automation and AI-powered solutions. The leader will balance technical direction, program execution, stakeholder management, operational reviews, and people development while overseeing multiple concurrent initiatives.

Who can apply

• - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline
• - Experience designing, building, operating, and managing large-scale distributed systems or web services
• - Experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages such as Java, C/C++, C#, Objective C, Python, JavaScript, Ruby, or Go
• - Experience writing scripts and automating processes with an understanding of the complete deployment life cycle from design, build, test, deploy
• - 5+ years of engineering team management experience
