A BBA gives you a broad base in management, which is both its strength and its problem on a resume. Recruiters hiring for a sales executive, an HR trainee or an operations associate want to know which of those you are best suited for. A generic BBA resume that lists every subject from your syllabus answers none of those questions. The fix is to choose a track and shape the resume around it.

The BBA fresher resume layout
- Header – name, city, [your email], phone, and a portfolio link if you have one (marketing and design-adjacent roles especially).
- Summary – two or three lines tied to your chosen track.
- Internships and live projects – the most important section for a BBA fresher.
- Academic projects – your final-year project, case competitions, research papers.
- Skills – tools and functional skills relevant to the track.
- Positions of responsibility and events – fest committees, clubs, placement cell.
- Education – BBA with specialisation, college, year, and marks if strong.

Objective or summary?
An objective says what you want ("seeking a challenging position..."). A summary says what you offer. For BBA freshers, a short summary almost always works better because it gives the recruiter a reason to keep reading. Compare:
- Weak objective: "To obtain a position in a reputed organisation where I can use my skills for growth."
- Better summary (sales track): "BBA (Marketing) graduate with a two-month field sales internship selling [product] to retail outlets in [city]; comfortable with cold calls, CRM updates and daily target tracking."
- Better summary (HR track): "BBA (HR) graduate who screened [N] applicants and coordinated interviews during a recruitment internship; working knowledge of Excel trackers and onboarding documentation."

Write bullets that show action and result. Use real figures only; the brackets below are placeholders for your own numbers.
Sales and business development

Projects, internships and events: making them count
BBA students often underrate what they have already done. A summer internship at a family friend's firm, a fest committee role or a case competition can all be strong bullets if you describe the work rather than the title. Ask yourself: what did I do each day, what did I produce, and who used it?

A one-page BBA resume skeleton
Here is how the page usually looks for a BBA (Marketing) fresher aiming at a sales or business development role. Swap the content for your own track.
- Top line: Name, city, [your email], phone.
- Summary: Two lines naming the specialisation, one internship and two tools.
- Internship: Company type, city, dates, three bullets on calls made, meetings set up and orders or leads closed.
- Projects: Final-year market study with sample size and method; one case competition with your role in the team.
- Skills: Excel (pivots, lookups), CRM basics, Canva, languages spoken with fluency level.
- Responsibilities: Sponsorship head for the college fest, with the amount raised if you know it.
- Education: BBA (Marketing), college, university, year and marks; Class XII and X in a single line each.
Language skills deserve a special mention for BBA freshers. Sales, customer success and operations teams in India often need people who can speak the local language of the territory, so list Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Bengali or any other language you speak well, with an honest level. Recruiters for field roles often read this line before anything else.
What to leave out
- Full subject lists from your syllabus. Name only the specialisation.
- Photographs, date of birth, father's name and marital status, unless the employer explicitly asks.
- Generic soft skills with no proof ("leadership", "teamwork"). Show them through a bullet instead.
- School-level achievements from many years ago, unless they are national-level.
- More than one page. A BBA fresher resume fits comfortably on a single page.

Yes, especially if you describe the work. Raising sponsorship, managing a budget or running registrations are real business tasks and make good bullets for sales, finance or operations roles.
