React Tutorial — Frequently Asked Questions

Is this React tutorial free?+

Yes. Every lesson is free, with no sign-up and no paywall. The course covers React from the first component through hooks, routing, data fetching, state management, performance, TypeScript, testing and deployment.

Do I need to know JavaScript before learning React?+

Yes. You should be comfortable with ES6 features — arrow functions, destructuring, spread and rest, template literals, array methods such as map and filter, promises and async/await. Most difficulty people attribute to React is actually a JavaScript gap.

How long does it take to learn React?+

About eight to ten weeks at one to two hours a day if your JavaScript is solid. The roadmap lesson in this course sets out a week-by-week plan ending with a deployed project.

Should I learn class components or function components?+

Function components with hooks. That is how all modern React is written, and every new React feature targets them. Learn just enough about classes to read older code and to write an error boundary.

Is React enough to get an internship or fresher job in India?+

React plus solid JavaScript, one deployed project and basic Git will get you interviews for front-end internships. Adding TypeScript, React Router and a data-fetching library such as TanStack Query makes you competitive for fresher developer roles.

What is the difference between React and Next.js?+

React is a UI library that renders in the browser. Next.js is a framework built on React that adds server rendering, file-based routing, an API layer and image optimisation. Learn React first — Next.js assumes you already know it.
