PhonePe is hiring a Software Engineer Intern (Backend) for its Outer Ring Road, Bellandur, Bengaluru office in Bengaluru, India. This 6-month hybrid internship sits within India's fast-growing financial technology (fintech) and digital payments sector and is designed for students and recent graduates who want practical, hands-on experience in backend & payments engineering. As a Software Engineer Intern (Backend) at PhonePe, you will work closely with experienced engineers, analysts and product managers on real, production-grade payment problems from day one. You will build and apply skills such as Java, Spring Boot, REST API, SQL, while learning how secure, compliant and scalable payment products are built and shipped at scale in India. Key responsibilities: • Design schemas and write efficient queries • Write tests and document services • Build and maintain secure, scalable payment APIs • Maintain high standards of data security, accuracy and documentation Eligibility: students and recent graduates with strong fundamentals and a keen interest in fintech and payments.
