What you'll do

  • Circuit Design & Schematic Development:
  • Develop detailed schematics for high-power charging systems, including AC/DC and DC/DC converters, pre-charge circuits, and protection circuitry.
  • Design circuits incorporating high-voltage components, such as power MOSFETs (Silicon, SiC, GaN) diodes, and snubber networks for transient suppression.
  • Create isolation circuits using opto-isolators and isolation transformers to ensure safe power conversion.
  • PCB Layout & Component Integration:
  • Translate complex schematics into optimized PCB layouts, addressing high-current traces, controlled impedance, and thermal management.
  • Integrate key components including high-power converters, switching regulators, EMI filters, inductors, and capacitor banks into cohesive designs.
  • Incorporate microcontrollers, FPGAs, or dedicated power management ICs to implement digital control schemes and smart charging algorithms.
  • Advanced Power Electronics Design:
  • Engineer high-efficiency switching regulators and power conversion circuits using simulation tools (e.g., SIMetrix, SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink) to predict circuit behavior under varying loads.

Who can apply

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in high-power electronics design with a strong focus on power conversion and charging systems.
  • Proven expertise in designing high-voltage power electronics including switching regulators, converters, and isolation circuits.
  • Proficiency in using circuit design and simulation tools (e.g., Altium Designer, SIMetrix, OrCAD, SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink) for rigorous design validation.
  • In-depth knowledge of PCB layout techniques for high-current and high-voltage applications, including thermal and EMI management.
  • Desirable Attributes
  • Prior experience in developing charging infrastructure for EVs or renewable energy applications.
  • Familiarity with digital control implementation using microcontrollers or FPGAs in power management systems.
  • Ability to innovate and drive the design of complex hardware systems from concept through detailed design documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented mindset, with a focus on performance, efficiency, and reliability.
