• Job Summary: As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead the design and development of core systems that drive JioStar’s advertising capabilities - from ad delivery and targeting to measurement and optimization. You’ll own large-scale projects end to end, operate with autonomy, and play a key role in shaping the architecture and future direction of our high-throughput, low-latency systems. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive on solving hard distributed systems problems and mentoring others toward engineering excellence.

• Reporting To: Engineering Manager
• Key responsibilities ● Design and build scalable, resilient microservices that power JioStar’s ad tech stack ● Own end-to-end delivery of complex backend projects, from technical design to deployment and monitoring ● Write high-quality, maintainable code, and ensure rigorous testing and fault tolerance ● Drive architectural decisions and influence long-term engineering strategy for the team ● Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and cross-functional teams to translate business needs into tech solutions ● Take ownership of operational excellence, including performance tuning, incident response, and root cause analysis ● Mentor junior engineers, conduct technical deep dives and code reviews, and foster a culture of knowledge sharing
• Skills and attributes for success: ● Proficiency in Java, Golang, or Python ● Experience designing and building distributed systems at scale ● Strong understanding of storage systems, query performance, and caching strategies ● Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), messaging systems (Kafka), and CI/CD pipelines ● Proven ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and manage delivery timelines in fast-paced environments ● You are passionate about growing engineers and leading by example ● Curious about how advertising systems work and how to optimize them for user and business outcomes Preferred education and experience: ● Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science or a related field with 4–7 years of experience in backend development
