What you'll do
- Build and test software features end to end, from design through to production release
- Analyse requirements and contribute to technical designs and design documentation
- Debug and troubleshoot issues in both development and live production environments
- Work on scaling, reliability and performance of large, long-lived systems
- Write and maintain automated tests and contribute to CI/CD pipelines
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, design and product teams across time zones
- Follow secure coding standards and established software development practices
- Take part in Agile ceremonies — sprint planning, stand-ups, demos and retrospectives
Who can apply
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (CS, IT, ECE, EEE or related) — 2026 graduating batch
- 0 years of experience — fresh graduates can apply
- Basic but solid knowledge of software-engineering concepts: data structures, algorithms, OOP, OS
- Ability to write, test and debug code in at least one language (Java, Python, C++, C or Go)
- Exposure to current technologies through coursework, academic projects or internships
- Familiarity with Agile ways of working and the software development lifecycle
- Awareness of secure coding practices and why they matter in shipped software
- Comfort with version control (Git) and reading an unfamiliar codebase
- Clear written and verbal communication for design docs and cross-team collaboration
- Willingness to work hybrid from a Cisco India engineering site
