About Newspace Research & Technologies

NewSpace Research and Technologies (NRT) is an Indian aerospace and defence R&D company headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka, with operations also spanning the Delhi NCR region. Founded in 2018 by former Indian Air Force fighter pilot Sameer Joshi, the company positions itself as one of India's fastest-growing Aerospace and Defence R&D firms, with a stated vision of building unmanned aerospace systems for the global market from India. NRT designs and develops next-generation intelligent, cyber-physical uncrewed systems for surveillance, communications, earth observation and future warfare needs of the Indian defence forces. Its core technology areas include unmanned air systems, drone swarms and collective robotics, mesh networking, GPS-denied operations, high-altitude long-endurance platforms, and applied AI/ML, AR and VR. Its product portfolio includes BELUGA, a hybrid multi-rotor long-endurance UAV; NIMBUS, a multi-purpose electric UAV; NIMBUS-SCOPE, a tethered electric UAV; and MACKEREL, a loitering-munition multi-rotor UAV. The company is also developing High-Altitude Pseudo-Satellite (HAPS) platforms, solar-electric unmanned aircraft designed to operate at very high altitudes with endurance measured in months, and has publicly demonstrated long-endurance solar-powered flight. NRT works with Indian government and defence customers, including the Ministry of Defence and the National Disaster Response Force, and has received publicly reported production orders from the Indian Army. It unveiled the Sheshnaag-150 long-range collaborative loitering-munition swarm system at the World Defence Show 2026 in Riyadh. Operating at the intersection of aerospace, embedded systems, autonomy and AI, NRT offers interns an exceptional environment to work on genuinely cutting-edge deep-tech systems.

Expert Tips

  • Practice LeetCode easy and medium problems before the OA — focus on arrays, strings, trees, and graphs.
  • For system design, use the RESHADED framework: Requirements, Estimation, Storage, High-level design, APIs, Detailed design, Evaluation.
  • Prepare 3–4 STAR stories covering: a challenge you solved, a time you worked in a team, a project you owned end-to-end.
  • After every coding solution, proactively state the time and space complexity — interviewers expect it.
  • Study common CS fundamentals: process vs thread, TCP vs UDP, REST vs GraphQL, SQL indexing, CAP theorem.
