ABB is a global technology leader in electrification and automation. We see our purpose as being to enable a more sustainable and resource-efficient future. By connecting our engineering and digitalization expertise, we help industries run at high performance, while becoming more efficient, productive and sustainable so they outperform. We call this: ‘Engineered to Outrun.’ We have around 110,000 employees worldwide and a history that stretches back more than 140 years. At ABB, our purpose is “why” we are in business: To enable a more sustainable and resource-efficient future with our technology leadership in electrification and automation. Our purpose reflects what we stand for as a company and what we aspire to be in the future. With our talented people, empowered teams and world-class technologies, we are creating superior value for our stakeholders and enabling a more sustainable and resource-efficient future. Guided by our purpose, our businesses are empowered to create superior value through our decentralized operating model - the ABB Way - which fosters greater accountability, transparency and speed. Technological innovation has been the driver of ABB’s growth and success since the late 19th century. We invest around 4 to 5 percent of our annual revenues in R&D and, together with our customers and partners, we push the boundaries of technology to make how we work, produce, move and live more sustainable. Sustainability is at the core of ABB’s purpose and value proposition. In collaboration with our customers, suppliers and partners, we are enabling a low-carbon society, preserving resources and promoting social progress for a net-zero future. For more than 140 years, ABB has been pioneering technologies that make our modern world possible. We help industries become more productive, efficient and sustainable so they can outperform, or as we say – ‘outrun’. The $13 trillion global buildings and construction industry faces challenges like high emissions, material and labor shortages, and low productivity, but ABB's electrification and automation technologies offer solutions to enhance sustainability, efficiency, and performance. From cloud environments to gigawatt-scale AI, we work side by side with customers and partners to deliver the world’s most advanced data centers. The global food and beverage industry faces growing demands; to increase output while navigating supply vulnerabilities, regulations, and resource constraints. Practice Questions10

Key Topics

  • Data Structures & Algorithms150q
  • System Design50q
  • Object-Oriented Design40q
  • SQL & Databases25q
  • CS Fundamentals (OS, Networking)25q

Expert Tips

  • Practice LeetCode easy and medium problems before the OA — focus on arrays, strings, trees, and graphs.
  • For system design, use the RESHADED framework: Requirements, Estimation, Storage, High-level design, APIs, Detailed design, Evaluation.
  • Prepare 3–4 STAR stories covering: a challenge you solved, a time you worked in a team, a project you owned end-to-end.
  • After every coding solution, proactively state the time and space complexity — interviewers expect it.
  • Study common CS fundamentals: process vs thread, TCP vs UDP, REST vs GraphQL, SQL indexing, CAP theorem.
