The idea for Ethos began when co-founder Lingke Wang was in college and was sold an expensive life insurance policy he didn’t need and couldn’t afford. The process was outdated and the options were opaque. H e soon realized he wasn't alone. Many families were stuck in an antiquated process that took weeks, or even months, making it difficult to get the protection they need. In 2016, classmates Peter Colis and Lingke Wang founded Ethos with the goal of making life insurance affordable, accessible, and straightforward. By using technology and data, they transformed a slow, outdated process into a 100% online experience that makes getting life insurance fast and easy. Ethos partners with some of the most respected and highly-rated insurance carriers in the world. These insurance giants have paid out hundreds of millions of dollars in life insurance claims for over a hundred years. What will happen with the people I love when my time is up?
