UPSC has notified the Combined Geo-Scientist Examination 2027 on 2 September 2026 for 127 tentative posts — Geologist, Geophysicist and Chemist (Group A) in the Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines, and Scientist B posts in the Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Jal Shakti.

Eligibility Criteria
Age limit: 21–32 years as on 1 January 2027 for Geologist/Geophysicist/Chemist (Group A); 21–35 for Scientist B posts, with statutory relaxation
- Geologist / Hydrogeologist: M.Sc. in Geological Science, Geology, Applied Geology, Geo-Exploration, Marine Geology or Hydrogeology.
- Geophysicist: M.Sc. in Physics, Applied Physics, Geophysics, Marine Geophysics or Applied Geophysics.
- Chemist: M.Sc. in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry.
- Age 21–32 years (Group A) or 21–35 years (Scientist B) as on 1 January 2027, with relaxation for reserved categories.
