Not necessarily. B.Com, M.Com, BBA, MBA (Finance), CA-Inter, CMA-Inter and Economics students are the natural fit for accounting, audit, credit and investment banking roles. But BFSI also hires heavily from B.Tech, BCA, MCA and B.Sc (Statistics) for data analytics, risk modelling, actuarial and fintech product roles. What stipend do finance internships pay in India?

Most listings here pay between ₹12,000 and ₹46,000 a month. Investment banking, treasury and analytics roles at foreign banks and funded fintechs sit at the top of that range; branch operations and accounting roles sit lower. Mumbai, GIFT City, Bengaluru, Gurugram and Hyderabad typically pay a few thousand more than tier-2 cities for the same role. Mumbai leads by a wide margin — it is where the RBI, the exchanges, most bank head offices and nearly all investment banking desks sit. Bengaluru and Gurugram follow on the strength of fintech and global capability centres, then Delhi, Hyderabad, Pune and Chennai. Beyond the metros, banks and NBFCs hire in Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Kochi, Lucknow, Indore, Chandigarh, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati and dozens of other cities, so use the city filter rather than assuming you have to move.

Every employer on this page is a real, operating BFSI institution — a licensed bank, NBFC, insurer, AMC, broker, exchange, rating agency, fintech or financial-advisory firm. Each company's official domain and careers page was checked before its listings were published, and the apply link on every listing goes to that company's own careers site so you can cross-check it yourself.

Do I need a NISM, CFA or GST certification before applying?

Accepted Answer

No. These are treated as a plus, not a prerequisite. NISM modules help for broking and mutual-fund roles, CFA Level 1 for equity research and investment banking, and GST or Tally familiarity for accounting roles — but every listing here is open to freshers with no certification at all. Strong Excel skills and comfort with numbers matter more at the internship stage.
